Paul O'Dea Paul O'Dea

Managing Director

An engineer by background, Paul is an experienced builder of growing companies.

Paul was a founder or chairperson of several technology companies that have secured strong market positions or have been acquired by companies like Oracle, Compuware and Misys. He has consulted with, and facilitated growth transformation workshops for multiple clients globally including Expedia, Novartis, HP, Glanbia, CRH and many investor backed businesses.

He is co-author of the book Select Selling (Oak Tree Press 2004), author of the book The Business Battlecard (Oak Tree Press 2009) and New Approaches to Growth (2012). Paul has an MBA from University College Dublin and is a qualified business coach. He is a former chairperson of the Irish Software Association and member of the Governing Board of ICT Ireland.

Emer O'Donnell Emer O'Donnell


A graduate of Trinity College, Emer spent her early career in senior roles in international technology companies. Since joining Select Strategies in 2009, she has worked with a wide variety of internationally focused clients delivering successful strategic growth projects.

Emer has extensive experience in the design and delivery of growth transformation workshops. She also successfully managed a range of programmes including Sales STAR, iGAP and now Enterprise Ireland’s new startup initiative ‘Accelerate’. Emer is coauthor of several industry reports Including The Product Management Minefield (2009) and New Approaches to Growth (2012).

Emer has a particular interest in leadership and team development. She holds a first class honors post graduate diploma in Business & Executive Coaching from UCD Smurfit School of Business, and is accredited as a coach practitioner by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council.  Bitten by the study bug Emer is currently studying for her Masters in Business & Executive Coaching.

ClareGallagher1 Clare Gallagher

Finance & Marketing Manager

Clare has a background in both marketing and finance. Prior to joining Select Strategies, Clare spent over ten years working in the financial services industry where she was responsible for the development and marketing of a variety of financial products. Clare was also engaged in developing and managing strategic investment portfolios for both corporate and individual clients.

Clare has assisted multiple SMEs with customer acquisition and retention using both traditional and digital marketing strategies. Clare has an MBA from UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School and a BA in Science of Materials from Trinity College Dublin. She is also a qualified member of the Society of Investment Analysts.

Clare is a non-executive member of the Board of Orbis Ireland, a non-profit organization working to prevent and treat avoidable blindness in the developing world.

Associate Consultant

Harry has been building high growth technology and services businesses for the past 25 years. 

He works with Senior Management teams and Boards to determine growth enablement strategies, with core focus and expertise on Monetization Strategy Development and Sales and Marketing Growth Planning.

He is the CEO of CloudMover, a technology business model design company, a non-Executive Director to four high growth software companies, and holds a number of Advisory roles. Harry’s corporate background was as a member of the Microsoft EMEA Leadership Team, and as a Senior Director in outsourced sales provider ServiceSource.

Harry holds an MBA (Distinction) from the University of Liverpool, England, and studied Computer Science and Business Administration at under graduate level at Queens University Belfast, Northern Ireland.
